How did we get here????
We are a "community" team of change-makers a force to be reckoned with when it affects all of our neighbors in one way or another. We understand the unique challenges that our community faces. We believe that by keeping our neighbors informed and engaged, we can foster a sense of unity and empowerment. We are here to support one another with compassion and hope.
Together, we can work towards solutions that uplift every member of our community.
In 2023, Just before the summer break, here in the Sheldon Community, the Boys and Girls club closed without community’s awareness.
The community gathered together, had our first meeting in the park and explored a plan of action.
We began setting up meetings with the B&G club regional manager, District Councilman for this area and Beaufort County Parks and Leisure Director. We were making telephone calls, meetings, broadcasting on radio the importance of need for a social outlet for this community. Thus the SCA was born-The Sheldon Community Alliance.
